No one other than certified and trained medical practitioners should carry out diagnostic tests. The initial consultation will include a discussion of your issues/symptoms and medical history, weighing and measurements (if necessary), current lifestyle and dietary habits, and setting realistic changes to your diet. This will result in a personalised eating plan based on your taste preferences and lifestyle. A follow-up appointment may be recommended to monitor progress and address any issues, and extra written information will be provided as needed.

Yes. It is safe to see a nutritional therapist while taking prescription medication, but the therapist may need to communicate with your doctor to ensure safety and tailor a diet plan to your needs. Clients will be provided with in-depth, personalised and high-quality dietary advice on a range of nutritional areas, including cardiology, endocrinology, gut nutrition and more. However, it may be best to consult your doctor before booking an appointment.
Yes, generally, we advise you to consult your doctor. With your permission, it may be necessary to contact your GP to clarify any symptoms/medical conditions. This information is helpful if you have recently been diagnosed with a long-term medical condition where the diet required may depend on the exact nature of the diagnosis.
You do not need a referral to make an appointment. However, a letter from your doctor with a copy of any tests you have had may be useful.
A nutritional therapist focuses on the use of food and nutrients to improve health and well-being, whereas a dietician focuses on the management of medical conditions and the use of medical nutrition therapy.
Payments are made by a secure card payment system at the end of the consultation.

The cost of seeing a dietitian varies based on the type of consultation. A new individual consultation costs €120, and you may be eligible to receive 30-50% back from your health insurance and as a tax rebate. The family consultation is €160, and also eligible for a similar health insurance and tax rebate. Follow-up consultations are priced at €80.
Yes. I am a member of the INDI (Irish Nutrition and Dietetics Institute), which is recognised by health insurers. You can claim 30 – 50% back on health insurance & 20% back on Tax with your CORU Registered Dietitian. What is not covered by your health insurer can be claimed on the Med 1 Form you submit at the end of the year.
Your food plan will be decided based on a discussion of your issues/symptoms, medical history, current lifestyle and dietary habits, and preferences. The plan will be individually tailored to fit your taste preferences and lifestyle and will include realistic and achievable changes.
At least 24 hours notice must be provided if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment. A cancellation fee of €35 is payable if less than 24 hours notice is received. It is understood that short notice may occasionally be unavoidable in some circumstances, and discretion will be exercised where appropriate.
